Megami Magazine Vol. 127

After what has felt like ages, I can finally get back to making regular posts again. My computer is all fixed and I don’t have anything I need to complete until February (yay). Today I have here the 127th volume of Megami Magazine, also known as the December 2010 issue.

Normally you’d think that a bishoujo magazine released in December would have a lot of girls in sexy Santa outfits, but Megami has a different take on things. Since December is one of the coldest months of the year (if you live in the northern hemisphere), Megami was nice enough to include lots of images to help warm you up, including beach and swimsuit ones. As usual, ecchi images aren’t shown directly (in case someone peeks over your shoulder), but now I’ve included links to each one to make it easier to get to.

I was upset to hear about how Azunyan was now alone in the light music club (I never got around to finishing K-ON), but it provides great backstory for new images. In this one it looks like she’s longing for something with her hair blowing in the spring wind.

I was very surprised to see a moderately tame Samurai Girls poster. Usually they have some low-angle shots or some compromising position, but here there’s just Sanada and Jubei sitting on a beach. I like their expressions.

Nanoha appearing in every volume of Megami seems to have become a fact of life. Some Nanoha posters are plain and boring, but this one look great, almost like a promotional poster.

A nice bathing scene for Sora fans.

I don’t understand what’s going on in this image. Is she riding a bear into the forest to chop some wood while wearing nothing but an apron?

This poster was a bit plain. They could have added some stationary or pieces of paper on the desk to give it some more detail.

I loved this Ore no Imouto poster, I think it captures the three girls’ attitudes to the anime Kirino watches perfectly. Obviously, Kirino would be elated to get her hands on some Meruru stuff while Ayase has that “ew, disgusting” look and Kuroneko has an annoyed expression.

Like the Samurai Girls poster, this To Love-Ru poster was also tame considering what kind of posters it has had before.

I don’t recall seeing the girls in Fortune Arterial wearing maid uniforms, but that would’ve made a nice bonus episode.

If you don’t have a beach anywhere nearby I guess getting your own pool works just as well.

This is my favourite TWGOK poster so far. It actually has someone doing something.

More beach + bikini images.

The textures in this illustration are amazing. It was done by the artist Fruit Punch (フルーツパンチ), you can find his site here: http://joto.yukihotaru.com/

I was suprised to see a fall-themed poster in here.

Star Driver doesn’t feel like a fanservice anime to me, but when you think about it, those Glittering Crux girls are very scantily dressed. It’s no surprise that Star Driver would get posters like this one.

Even more bikinis!

I liked this Zakuro poster, it manages to capture that sleepy morning feel and still look pretty at the same time.

The To Heart franchise must be very successful considering its been over a decade since the first one came out and they’re still coming out with more To Heart titles.

The extras this time included some K-ON stickers. The stickers have the three most popular girls on them, but I wish they had one with Mugi in it as well.

In addition to the stickers, Megami also included the regular B2 size poster. On the front side is all of the girls from Stike Witches in various levels of undress. That toothpaste looks suspiciously creamy in consistency.

On the back side of the poster are some of the girls from To Aru Majutsu no Index II. Of course, they’ve got to be in swimsuits too. I thought it was a bit plain with just a sky background, but at least the girls look nice.

I found this volume to be a bit more ecchi than usual, but like I said before, Megami is probably aiming to help warm people up this winter. My favourite poster was the one done by Fruit Punch, and except for the one that looked a bit plain, I thought everything else looked good.
